ForestrySA will begin fuel reduction residue burning in the Mount Crawford Forest near Springton on Thursday 19 October 2017.
This type of fuel reduction activity involves the burning of harvest debris – a proven way to reduce forest fuel loads and the intensity of bushfire. It also facilitates plantation re-establishment and changes in land use.
The burn will start at ForestrySA’s Big Flat forest location (also known as the Goat Farm), dependent on weather conditions and will continue until complete.
Smoke will be present in the area and may be visible to the public from nearby roads such as Springton and McBean Roads, while the burn is underway.
ForestrySA apologises for any inconvenience caused while the burn is in progress.
