Welcome to Chalk’s Campground
ForestrySA manages a number of designated campgrounds and accommodation facilities in the Mount Lofty Ranges.
Chalk’s Campground is set among beautiful redgums and named after one of Mount Crawford’s first foresters.
Forest visitors wishing to use a campsite for day visits are required to book and pay for their site online prior to arrival.
Use of fire pits within picnic areas remains free of charge and available on a first-in, first-served basis.
Camping is permitted from 1 April to 30 November annually, outside of the fire danger season.
Fees apply for camping. Please make your booking via the link below.
Wood fires are permitted from 1 May – 31 October annually. (These dates may change in seasons where high fire danger persists).
OUR INTERACTIVE CAMPGROUND MAP FEATURE ALLOWS SITE SELECTION AT THE TIME OF BOOKING.
FOR THE BEST POSSIBLE USER EXPERIENCE, WE SUGGEST USING A TABLET OR COMPUTER.
The forest is closed to the public on declared Total Fire Ban days. To report a fire, call 000.
Fire is prohibited on ForestrySA land and Forest Reserves between November 1 and April 30 in any year. (These dates may be extended in areas where high fire danger persists).
