Camping season now closed
Our annual camping and accommodation season is now closed – thanks to all who visited during 2020!
Bookings for season 2021 will open at 9am Monday 1 March. We look forward to you staying with us again, so please keep an eye on our website or Facebook page for further updates.
Forest day visits for recreational activities remain available, in line with current COVID-19 restrictions. Visit the SA Government’s COVID-19 website to stay up to date.
Campground gates will be open for picnicking from 8am – 4pm daily.
The forest is closed to the public on days of Total Fire Ban. Please check the CFS website before your visit, for current fire bans and ratings.

ForestrySA managest three designated campgrounds in the Mount Lofty Ranges – Kuitpo Forest’s Chookarloo and Mount Crawford’s Chalk’s and Rocky Paddock Campgrounds.
All sites are available to view and book online during the annual camping season.
Forest visitors wishing to use a campsite for day visits will also be required to book and pay for their site online prior to arrival.
Use of fire pits within picnic areas will remain free of charge and available on a first-in, first-served basis.
Camping is permitted from 1 April to 30 November annually, outside of the fire danger season.
Fees apply for camping. Please obtain your camping permit online.
Wood fires are permitted from 1 May – 31 October annually. (These dates may change in seasons where high fire danger persists).
