Welcome to Rocky Creek Campground
If you’re planning to hike the Heysen Trail, then Rocky Creek Campground is just for you!
A remote campground conveniently located in bush-land near the famous trail, this campground is reserved for those hiking the long distance Heysen Trail and using the camp as a stop-over.
Camping permitted from 1 April – 30 November
Wood fires permitted from 1 May – 31 October, in the designated communal fire pit only. (These dates may change in seasons where high fire danger persists).

- Maximum of 2 guests per booking
- Rocky Creek Campground accommodates up to 8 hikers in total
- Distance from amenities: 200m from toilet facilities shared with Rocky Creek Hut
- No vehicle access
- Wood fires permitted in designated communal fire pit only

The forest is closed to the public on declared Total Fire Ban days. To report a fire, call 000.
The Kuitpo and Mount Crawford Forests are located within the Mount Lofty Ranges Fire Ban District. For fire ban information phone 1300 362 361 or visit the CFS website. Being aware of a Total Fire Ban is your responsibility.
Fire is prohibited on ForestrySA land and Forest Reserves between November 1 and April 30 in any year. (These dates may be extended in areas where high fire danger persists).
