Book your forest wedding ceremony

Select locations within ForestrySA’s Kuitpo and Mount Crawford Forest Reserves are now available for wedding ceremonies.

Ceremonies can be booked in select forest areas from 1 April to 30 November annually, outside of the annual Fire Danger Season. Unfortunately, wedding receptions are not permitted.

As the South Australian Government’s forest manager, ForestrySA has strict guidelines for the management of all forest events. Wedding planners must complete a detailed application form for consideration, well ahead of the big day. You can download an application form below.

Please include an itinerary, forest location map, contact numbers and any other relevant detail and forward it to our Forest Ranger for approval, who will register your application and contact you in due course.

For more information, please send us an email.

Please note: The forest is closed to the public on declared Total Fire Ban days.

Planning your day in a working forest environment

While ForestrySA encourages members of the public to enjoy the forest environment, both the Kuitpo and Mount Crawford Forest Reserves are working, commercial forests.

Forest maintenance and other operations are conducted at various times throughout the year. All wedding applications will be considered in line with these activities.

In the interest of public safety, all ForestrySA Reserves are closed on days of Total Fire Ban as declared by the Country Fire Service. Unfortunately this does mean your forest ceremony will be cancelled. Please keep this in mind when planning your day. Ensuring an alternative plan is in place is a requirement of the application approval process.
