FOREST CLOSURE, PEST ANIMAL CONTROL OPERATIONS

Southern Hills / Central Fleurieu

For public safety, temporary forest closures will be in place 6am Monday 4th May to 6pm Friday 8th May 2026 during a coordinated operation by the Landscape South Australia Hills and Fleurieu with support from National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) and ForestrySA.

Closed areas include:
NPWS: Cox Scrub CP, Finniss CP, Scott CP, Bullock Hill CP, Mount Magnificent CP, Kyeema CP (closed for the duration).
ForestrySA (Kuitpo Forest – partial closure): All areas except Chookarloo and buffer zones. Key recreation sites affected include Bells Gully bike trails and sections of the Heysen Trail and Kidman Trail through the control area.

Some ForestrySA visitor sites/accommodation are planned to remain available as they are buffered from operational zones (including Chookarloo campground, TreeClimb, Avenues, Jacks Paddock, Woodcutters Cottage, and CABN). Please follow onsite signage and staff directions.

FOREST CLOSURE, PEST ANIMAL CONTROL OPERATIONS

Limestone Coast

For public safety, temporary forest closures will be in place from 6am Monday 27 April to 6pm Tuesday 5 May 2026 during a coordinated feral deer control operation.
The operation is being undertaken by the Limestone Coast Landscape Board and the Department of Primary Industries and Regions (PIRSA), with support from ForestrySA, Department for Environment and Water (National Parks and Wildlife Service South Australia), and private landholders.

Closed areas:
Khayyam Native Forest Reserve (NFR)
Konetta Native Forest Reserve (NFR)

(South East / Limestone Coast Forest Area)
Members of the public are advised not to enter closed areas and to follow all signage and directions from authorised staff.
