Camping season 2019

Hut and facility reservations for the upcoming camping season will be accepted via the ForestrySA website from 9am, Monday 4 March 2019. The annual camping season is scheduled to run from 1 April to 30 November 2019. Please note that the Chookarloo, Chalks and Rocky Paddock Campgrounds continue to operate on a first-in, first-served basis, via self-issue permits. Bookings are not accepted.

Enjoy the picturesque Mount Lofty Ranges from one of ForestrySA’s hut and camp accommodation venues, set within the Kuitpo and Mount Crawford Forest Reserves.

All venues are available for use outside of the annual fire danger season.

(Please note the Rocky Paddock, Chalks and Chookarloo Campgrounds operate on a first in, first served basis. Bookings are unavailable.)

The forest is closed to the public on declared Total Fire Ban days. To report a fire, call 000.

Fire is prohibited on ForestrySA land and Forest Reserves between November 1 and April 30 in any year.

Camping in the Mount Lofty Ranges

Get back to nature at one of ForestrySA’s popular forest campgrounds, located within the Kuitpo and Mount Crawford Forest Reserves.

Camping is permitted from 1 April to 30 November annually, outside of the fire danger season.

Please note that all sites operate on a first-in, first-served basis and bookings are unavailable.

Fees apply for camping. Camping permits can be obtained from the Forest Information Centre. This is a self-registration permit system available 24hrs.
