Forest event applications closed for 2021
Our Mount Lofty Ranges forests are a popular place for events and activities – close to 200 event applications have been received to date for activities and events to be held in our Kuitpo, Mount Crawford and Second Valley forests during 2021.
Events and activities include things such as education and Scout groups, horse riding, sled dog training, the Forest Festival, community events, film and photography shoots, wedding ceremonies, outdoor education courses and camps, military training, tours, mountain bike events, orienteering, walking and trail running events, the Barossa Triathlon, rogaining, motorbike events, car rallies, forestry training courses, family gatherings and so much more.
As a result of high demand, we are unable to accept any more event applications for 2021. Our small but mighty Ranger team is stretched to its limits, facilitating the events already locked in for this year.
Updates will be provided if the situation changes, but for now, our forests are at capacity.
Please note: Applications are still being accepted for events at Fox Creek Bike Park in support of bushfire recovery and our forests in the Limestone Coast.
Event Applications are now being accepted for the 2022 season. Please email us your application along with maps, proof of public liability insurance and all necessary information.
Planning a forest event?
A wide variety of community and private events are held in our Mount Lofty Ranges and Green Triangle forest reserves each year.
All events require the organiser to complete and submit an Event Application. Due to the very high number of Event Applications currently being received, all Event Applications must be submitted at least four (4) weeks prior to the scheduled event. Larger more complex community Event Applications must be submitted at least eight (8) weeks prior to the event.
Event Applications are reviewed by a Forest Ranger and approved on a case-by-case basis.
COVID Management Plan for events over 1,000 people
Organisers of events involving more than 1,000 people must lodge a COVID Management Plan direct with SA Health.
SA Health approval is required before the event can take place.
Regional Event Fund grants available
Are you planning an event in our Mount Lofty Ranges or Limestone Coast forests during 2021-22?
You may be eligible for grant funding, as part of a new SA Government initiative to support regional events, visitation and spending.
The Regional Event Fund is offering grants from $5,000 – $50,000, to strengthen the state’s regional events calendar and drive economic stimulus beyond the traditionally peak summer tourism period.
